It would be great to have a feature similar to tracker, but for movies. I love being able to keep track of all my shows in one place. It would be nice to be able to keep track of movies I've watched and want to watch all in one place as well.
I'm always receiving recommendations from friends of movies to watch, seeing trailers online and on TV for new releases, hearing about new DVD releases, and forgetting the names of some movies I like but only watched once - and want to watch again. It would be helpful to have a feature on SideReel that would "track" that, or add them to some sort of list.
I read a previous help thread in which someone mentioned that the old SideReel had a similar feature, which was removed with the new site upgrade and a new focus on TV. I'm a relatively new user so I'm not familiar with that, but I think something like this could be really useful! :)

1Hey Kristen,
Thanks so much for the feedback. In our transition to the newer site, we put priority on improving tracking for TV shows, since the feature lends itself more to keeping track of TV episodes than movies, but we are working on gradually bringing back more movie-related features as well in the long run. While you can't track movies on the new version as of now, you can still find movie-related news, reviews, and discussions on our movie page for now.
Thanks again for the suggestion -- we'll definitely keep this in mind for future developments. :) -

I just made a topic about it, but then I saw this so I deleted it lol, but yeah, I REALLY WANT THIS!
Wow, 10 months ago, are you still considerating it or is it COMPLETELY forgotten?
This would be really good, I'm sure a lot of others would love to have this as an option!!-
Hi Cruuushhh,
Not forgotten - we used to have a function like this for movies, but since they aren't recurring like scheduled TV shows, the whole "tracker" functionality isn't as relevant. However, like you mentioned, we still like the idea of being able to "favorite" movies, just no immediate plans as of yet! -

I use Sidereel more of a "to-watch" list and as a record of what I have watched than a place to watch online. A "watch this" function for movies would be cool, to mark a movie on my "I want to watch this" list, with the option to mark as watched. This could also be linked into a recommendation system "if you watched and liked that, what about this?"

tracking movies so we can see how many we've seen like a list? also many movies don't have a proper sidereel page

tracking movies.-
Hi Danyal! While the "tracker" functionality lends itself more to episodic TV, we definitely acknowledge that there should be something similar for movies - even if it's an option to 'favorite' certain movies. No definite plans yet, but we'll definitely keep it in mind!
As for neglected movie pages, let us know which ones specifically you find that you'd like to see fixed up and I'll be happy to pass it along! -

I agree that a movie feature would be nice. I think rottentomatoes does this very nicely. They have "want to watch" "not interested" "rate" and "review" options. It would be nice to have it all in one place and sidereel is the best for tracking shows :) Hopefully this will become more of a priority if more people post here :P

Perhaps Sidereel can feature a movie tracker similar to the tv tracker. Perhaps even with the ability to create lists and track which movies we want to see or have seen.
