Why can't I log in with my Facebook account on beta?

Edit Subject

The site has been updated to a new version and I don't see a way to log in with my Facebook connected account! This is the only way I've logged in before. What can I do to access my SideReel account?

Update: Facebook Connect now works normally on Beta. You may Login via Facebook Connect from the top right corner of the site, as you did previously. Thanks for all of your feedback and patience.

The option to use Facebook Connect is temporarily turned off as of our new site launch on 9/10/10, but it will be turned back on within a few days of the launch once we work out a few kinks.

Until it's back, you can log in with your SideReel username. If you have only used Facebook to log in and are unsure of your SideReel username, please email us at contact@sidereel.com including your name and your email address and we'll be happy to retrieve your username for you.

You'll need to reset your password if you've never logged in with just your SideReel username, so just follow the link asking you to reset your password and you'll be able to reset then log in with your SideReel username and that new password.

The answer to your question is at the top of the page, people!! How are you still "confused" and "annoyed" and "extremely frustrated"? I mean, really?!! It's not like the feature is gone forever. As Kendra pointed out, it's coming back. It'll just be a few days. In the meantime, create a bum account and do things a little differently until the feature returns.

  Luz Costa. i find your reply VERY rude. if you look under each message below, you will see that almost all say ''This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled.....'' mine is the first to say that. This is because we clicked ''contact us'' and filled out the form with our concerns. not because we're all blindly stupid and posted the same thing over and over again. Kendra saw our threads and merged them all into this one so we would see her reply. maybe in the future you should take a closer look at things before you jump into the thread getting annoyed!!!!

  Rachel, I didn't meant to be rude but rather express frustration. I don't think people are idiots for asking the question, but as someone who frequents forums, it's just common courtesy to check a forum for existing threads that apply to your issue. Clearly, some here skipped that step, as implied by the wording of the note: "This reply was created from a merged topic..." and time stamp (some were posted as late as this afternoon! What innocence can THEY claim?) There my frustration lied. On the other hand, if you're correct -- these grievances were all created outside the forum in a contact form -- then I readily apologize to all and retract my statement.

I cant log in! I put the right e-mail address in and it tells me that there is no e-mail found. What is the prob? I don't log in very much because I have my page set to my favorites and go in that way. I am also connected with my facebook. What do I do? I don't want to start over, I have a ton of shows I'm tracking.

When I first started using sidereel I connected through facebook and I never closed it, I dont remember ever linking an email or password to the account and now that you've gone and changed everything I can't access anything anymore. I tried using all of my emails to see if they would link me to a password that I may have forgotten but it doesn't have any of them registered. I really don't want to start a new account and have to re-track all of my shows. How do I get access back to my account?!

I dont know what happened but i have no way of logging in anymore. First off, i did not sign up for sidereel using an email or username, i did so using "sign in with facebook connect", and for the life of me i cant find that button anymore. the lost password doesnt work because i didnt sign up with an email (or at least i dont recall doing so) and thus none of my email accounts work to reset the account, giving me a simple "username / email not found". I tried clicking "sign up" thinking maybe i could get around it that way but your "sign up" page goes straight to the "log in" page. i cant even create a new account. I'm not even sure if this is the right form to use because theres a big giant white space where the contact form should be. super. how the hell do i log in!?

I originally signed up for sidereel through my facebook account....since this morning when sidereeel claims to be "bigger and better" I can no longer access my account. I am unable to sign in or retrieve a password using my email address (which is probably because I never entered an email address having used facebook to sign up originally). Is my account gone? If not, how can I access it now? I had it all set up with the shows I track and ones that I have watched and would HATE to have to start all over! Please help!

Sadly that is not true. I tried to reset my password but when did put in the new password i arrive at: http://beta.sidereel.com/users/sign_in
when i now try to login it tells me:
"You have to confirm your account before continuing."

Please tell me how do i confirm my account? I never got an email or similar, also there is no button or link to do so.
I also cant create a new account because my email-address is already registered.

If you were using Facebook to log in and did not have a SideReel account that you could use to log in, your TRACK LIST IS NOT LOST . Currently, you cannot log in only with Facebook. We will ad this feature back as soon as possible and you will be able to get back to your Tracker. If you had a SideReel account and linked it with your Facebook account, you can still log in with your SideReel account.

Why has Sidereel changed, I can't log on using my Facebook and I can't log on using my E-mail address as it tells me I need to confirm my account and I have no way of doing so .... I started tracking shows and and had all my things set up have I lost them and how can I get back to my account!?!?!?!?
PS: I don't want to have to loose my account and start over cause it was already enough work setting it up and finding all my shows ....

Facebook log in should work again now! First, log in to Facebook. Then visit http://www.sidereel.com/_home. You may need to refresh the page a few times, but then you should be redirected to beta.sidereel.com and you'll see in the right corner that you are logged in with your Facebook connected account.

Not working at all... it has been weeks now. Can't see the entire TV schedule, can't connect with my normal or my Facebook account...
The new browsing system for links of an episode is rubbish, annoying to have to click on 1234567... the old Sidereel was way faster, easier, so much more performant...
Who had the idea to make these fake improvements?

  Facebook Connect is working now, though there will be a better fix coming soon. For now, you can do the following:
  First, log in to Facebook. Then visit http://www.sidereel.com/_home. You may need to refresh the page a few times, but then you should be redirected to beta.sidereel.com and you'll see in the right corner that you are logged in with your Facebook connected account.
  
  As for the TV Schedule, the scrolling and expand options will be returning soon. We're not exactly sure when the update will go out, but we'll keep you posted. We're still working out some kinks, so please bear with us and you'll soon have a faster, better new SideReel!

  Hi Chad, what's happening when you log into Facebook then visit SideReel? Are you refreshing the page a few times? This will get a better fix, but for now, as long as you're logged in on FB, and refresh on the site, you'll be logged in. As for another form or log in, you'd need to log in with a username, not your email address. If you've always just used FB connect and want to know your username, you can email us with your info so we can look up your username - contact@sidereel.com.

  Hi Chad, I tested it out on Firefox and it worked, though it did take about 3 or 4 refreshes of the site to get me logged in with Facebook. Try keeping your Facebook page open then refreshing sidereel.com in another tab a few times. That's what seems to be working fine, but if it still doesn't work for you, we'll be happy to look more into what might be going wrong. We can also look up your username if you'd like to log in with that instead. You can request that via email - contact@sidereel.com, but please let me know how another try at logging in via Facebook works too.

However, I logged out of it today, logged in to my boyfriend's on my computer, and then tried to log back in to mine. It's as if I don't exist. I was a member, I was logged in and now you can't find me in the system. My nickname and email is not found. Please help. I'd hate to have to re-register and re follow all the shows I want to track.
